A WWII STORY
Alex McLeod of Feilding, New Zealand is drafted to serve as a foot soldier in WWII. Learn about his story, as told by his Granddaughter (Rebecca) and/or Daughter (Lorraine), as he engages in two battles, is captured by enemy forces and taken prisoner.
His letters home, and diary notes were carefully compiled into what we now know as his story. A project that spanned three generations and twenty years to complete.
This presentation is suitable for all school ages and includes some of Alex's WWII artefacts. Students will hear what it was like for one New Zealand soldier with photos, objects and his story. There are always a lot of questions!
It is recommended to book early around ANZAC.
